About Sobbia Saleem
Most of the people I work with aren't new to self-reflection. They know their patterns, they can trace things back — and they're tired of it not being enough. If that's where you are, you're in the right place.
I didn't arrive here in a straight line. I worked first in genetics research, then in journalism and social policy — fields shaped by the same underlying question: how does change actually happen?
Across all of them, the same pattern kept appearing. Understanding something doesn't necessarily shift it. I could see how patterns form, how systems shape people's lives — and how much sits beneath the surface, quietly governing how people feel, respond, and relate.
What became clear is that real change rarely happens at the level we try to reach it. It doesn't happen in argument, or analysis, or even insight. It happens where experience is actually held — in the body, in emotional memory, in the patterns continuing beneath conscious awareness. I came to know — not just intellectually, but in my own life — that the body carries things the mind can't always reach. That conviction is what brought me here, and it's at the heart of how I work.
"Most people aren't broken. They're disconnected — from their bodies, their instincts, and the parts of themselves they've learned to silence."— Sobbia Saleem
I'm Sobbia (pronounced "So-bee-ah") — an integrative therapist based in Glasgow, working with adults who are ready to do things differently. I bring genuine curiosity, warmth, and a deep respect for the complexity of being human.
What makes the work different is how it's held. In a session, I'm not just listening to what's said. I'm tracking your language, your emotional responses, your physical cues, and the protective patterns underneath — and working with all of it in real time.
Most therapists who describe themselves as integrative move between modalities in sequence. I work across body, subconscious and conscious mind simultaneously. The integration isn't something applied step by step. It's the way the work happens. That's what allows it to reach the places insight alone hasn't.
You don't need to arrive with clarity or have the right words. We begin with what's already present, and work from there.
You should feel held here. But we're not sitting with things indefinitely — I'm paying attention to what's shifting, what's repeating, and where something is ready to move.
If something isn't shifting, we don't push harder. We slow down and get curious about what's in the way — because that's usually where the real work is.
Nothing needs to be simplified, softened, or made acceptable. We work with what's actually there — even if it's messy, unclear, or hard to put into words.
The nervous system doesn't lie. I take seriously what your body is saying — and help you learn to do the same.
You don't need to explain yourself perfectly or get it "right." We work it out as we go — including the parts that don't yet make sense.
The aim isn't for you to rely on therapy. It's for you to feel more steady, more connected, and more able to navigate things from within yourself.
I believe in rigour. My practice is grounded in extensive training and ongoing professional development — because the field keeps moving, and so should I.
I am committed to regular supervision and continuing professional development, ensuring my practice stays current, ethical, and evidence-informed.
